Former “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson is saying goodbye to her manager. People magazine reports the singer and her manager parted ways, but there’s no indication as to why. The announcement comes just weeks before the release of her new CD “My December.” Some in the music industry speculate they had conflicting views about her new release. It is the first album she co-produced and wrote entirely. It’s set to hit the shelves June 26.

A concert to benefit Farm Aid is coming to New York. The organization’s founders. singers Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, say a daylong event called Farm Aid 2007: A Homegrown Festival will take place this summer. The non-profit supports poor families in rural areas and encourages consumers to buy farm grown food. Nelson and Mellencamp will join Neil Young and Dave Matthews to headline the special concert.

Paris Hilton’s agent has reportedly quit. E! Online reports Michael Donkis and his firm are no longer representing the hotel heiress. He apparently stepped down last Friday when Hilton was sent back to jail after spending a day on house arrest. There’s no indication as to why they dropped her. Hilton’s been a client of the agency since 2005.

Actors Ben Stiller and George Clooney have made their first appearance on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Stiller is at number 28 and Clooney is 40th. The magazine’s annual list is based on star’s earnings and celebrity appeal. Missing from the list this year is comedian Jim Carrey, Leonardo DiCaprio and Denzel Washington. The special issue of Forbes hits newsstands on Friday.

Actress Rachel Weisz is signing on to star in a new film. Variety magazine says she’ll be the lead in “Lovely Bones”…a film based on a novel by Alice Sebold. The actress will play a mother who’s daughter goes missing and is believed to have been killed. Weisz is known for her roles in “The Constant Gardener” and “The Mummy” series. The movie is set to begin production in Pennsylvania and New Zealand this fall.

Oprah Winfrey is number one on the Forbes magazine Celebrity 100 list for the second year in a row. The talk show host reportedly earned $275 million over the past 12 months. Forbes looks at each star’s past year of income, web hits and press exposure to determine the rankings. Golfer Tiger Woods took home second place and actress Angelina Jolie came in third. Jolie’s significant other, Brad Pitt, sits at number ten. Other celebrities in the top ten include husband and wife pair, Beyonce and Jay-Z, soccer star David Beckham and author J.K. Rowling.

Madonna isn’t commenting about an upcoming memoir written by her younger brother, Christopher Ciccone. Publisher Simon & Schuster announced yesterday Ciccone’s book, called “Life With My Sister,” will be released on July 15. The book will apparently have a first printing of 350,000 copies. The Material Girl’s rep told the AP the singer hasn’t condoned any biographies about herself and added Madonna isn’t close to her brother now, even though they’ve worked together in the past.

Meanwhile, Lynne Spears is reportedly planning to release her memoir this fall. The book will reportedly document the mother’s experiences raising her celebrity daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn. A rep for publisher Thomas Nelson says the book was put on pause when Jamie Lynn found out she was expecting a baby. He adds the memoir is titled “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” and says Lynne Spears wants to tell her daughters’ stories from her perspective. That’s all according to People magazine.

Hulk Hogan is opening up about his family’s recent struggles. The wrestler spoke out about his son Nick Bollea’s car accident on “Larry King Live” Tuesday, saying his 17-year-old “made a mistake.” Bollea is behind bars in Florida for a crash that left his friend with serious injuries. Hogan said he’s “soul searching” in the wake of the accident and his wife Linda’s decision to file for divorce. Linda Bollea is reportedly now trying to cite Hogan for allegedly not paying for a property they share in Las Vegas.

“The Love Guru” premiered yesterday at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The film’s star and writer Mike Myers stepped out for the event. Justin Timberlake was also at the premiere. He plays a well-endowed hockey player in the film. Verne Troyer, who played Mini Me alongside Myers in Austin Powers, was on hand. Troyer plays a hockey coach in the movie. “The Love Guru” hits U.S. theaters on June 20.

The media influences millions of people, entire generations and societies, often from birth. Messages sink into our minds and when they are repeated systematically, can have a massive impact on our beliefs, behavior and lives. We need to make sure we are conscious of what ideas are slipping into our subconscious minds, and make sure that any messages we ourselves spread (be it through music or videos etc.) don’t repeat the same racial patterns.

This video study looks at justifications usually given by people trying to excuse the racial imaging of females in the media and shows these justifications are in fact based on false ideas, misconceptions and a lack of comprehensive understanding about the way the human mind works.

At the moment, people assume its normal to use women with blonde or bleached blonde hair in the media, in a high number of media productions that are made in the West, as a symbol of womanhood, glamour and celebrity. However, I think this is not quite as normal as people assume it is, and it is also having some very damaging consequences for society.

This is not an attack on blonde women! This is not an attack on any race or any gender! Every human being is special and different and makes a unique contribution to society. Everyone deserves to enjoy their lives, their natural, genetic and cultural beauty and their uniqueness.

I am making this video because I feel that the Western media does not allow everybody to enjoy their own uniqueness.

Many people notice when certain groups of people are shown in a negative way, for example, like showing black people as the criminals all the time. But how many people notice positive portrayals? Do you notice when people are shown in a good way – a way accepted by society like, the hero, the leader, the good person?

We generally like things that are positive, and, when these positive ideas are repeated, it can strengthen our view that these ideas are correct. This video focuses on the positive role of the woman.

Can I ask you, in most of the films you have ever seen in your life, that have been made in Western countries such as England and America, what colour hair does the lead female character, star or attractive woman have? How about the everyday sit-coms? Dramas? Hollywood block-busters? Fashion and beauty magazines?

Do you think there is a TOTALLY EQUAL or proportionate representation of black, brown, ginger-haired women and ethnic minorities? Or, thinking about it, would you say that most of the women you see are blonde or bleached blonde??!

Some people don’t really notice things like this, although don’t forget, your subconscious notices everything all the time. Other people will agree and say they have noticed, but they will try to justify it, by giving reasons or explanations. I don’t think a lot of these explanations add up. And because I think the affects are so damaging for society, I am going to look at each of these justifications in turn in this video:

1: “It’s because society prefers blonde hair”

The majority of the world is made up of people with dark black or brown hair, that is, the Asians and Africans and the majority of white people. I doubt very much if all those people, all think that blonde hair is better than theirs.

2: “It’s because the West prefers blonde hair”

All of the people in the West? The West is made up of a significant number of brunette, ginger and ethnic minority men and women. I doubt they all think blonde hair is better than theirs or better than their non-blonde families’.

3: “It’s because men prefer it”

We know for a fact that that isn’t true. Some men prefer it. That’s normal. But other men don’t. Constantly teaching young boys through the media that women are supposed to have blonde hair IS going to have a massive impact on their opinions.

Preferring blonde hair is only ever an opinion, held by a few people, it’s not a universal truth or fact. But for some reason, everyone in Western society has to keep on listening to the opinions of a small group of people, as though they are the opinions of everyone, and this is building up a distorted view of the people for everyone in our society, and it’s all based on RACE.

Singer Sheryl Crow and White House advisor Karl Rove reportedly clashed at a gala in Washington DC over the weekend. The Washington Post reports Crow and her friend, film producer Laurie David attended the White House Correspondent’s dinner Saturday night. David reportedly approached Rove, urging him to pay attention to global warming…she says he was very rude to her. Crow then apparently joined in on the debate as well. But Rove had a different account…he says they insulted him.

Celebrity couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo may be getting more serious. People magazine reports they’ve moved into a 2 bedroom condo in New York City together. They reportedly moved boxes through the rain last week…Lachey took the heavy lifting while Minnillo helped with the small stuff. Their reps would not confirm if Minnillo has also moved into his place in southern California.

For the second weekend in a row, the horror film “Disturbia” has topped U.S. box offices. It was number one in theaters again bringing in more than 13 million dollars in ticket sales. The suspense film “Fracture” starring Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins grabbed the number 2 spot. And “Blades of Glory” is still bringing in fans at number 3.

British singer Amy Winehouse is engaged. Her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil popped the question with a diamond ring from Tiffany jewelers. The couple reportedly dated for two and half years before a brief break up. They got back together more than a month ago. 23 year old Winehouse told a British newspaper he proposed at home and it tok her a day to finally say yes. She says there’s no set date or place yet.

Pop star Madonna is back home in London after a 6 day trip to Malawi. She spent time there working with a charity to build children’s health care centers. She also reportedly visited the orphanage where she first met her soon to be adopted son David…the singer is in the final stages of making that adoption official. It’s unclear if Madonna met with David’s biological father while she was there. One source from the orphanage says a meeting between them was cancelled.

Actor Johnny Depp is now speaking out about his daughter’s recent health scare. He tells a British newspaper it was a frightening time for him and his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis when their child, 7 year old Lily-Rose got sick. He did not indicate what made her sick but one British newspaper says it was E. Coli poisoning. She was hospitalized in London earlier this year while the actor was filming “Sweeny Todd” in England. Depp says he and Paradis feel lucky that now she’s healthy as ever.

Construction is beginning on Brad Pitt’s new green housing development in New Orleans. The actor is backing the organization Global Green USA, which is building an eco-friendly neighborhood in the 9th ward destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The houses reportedly use 40 percent less energy than an average home. Construction is expected to be done in August. Pitt says he’s looking forward to when families finally move in.

The U.S. government is reportedly investigating film director Michael Moore. E! News says the Treasury Department sent a letter to Moore saying he didn’t have permission to travel to the communist country of Cuba for his new film. Moore went to the country in March for his new film “Sicko” …bringing several 9/11 workers with him. His producer says the workers suffer from chemical exposure, and they traveled to Cuba because there’s inadequate health care in the U.S. She also says the government’s investigation of Moore is “politically motivated.”

Reality TV star Jason Wahler is now in rehab. A relative tells People magazine “The Hills” star is doing well and getting the help he needs. Wahler was set to spend time in jail for an assault charge last year, but the judge is suspending that for now while he’s in the treatment facility. Earlier this year he was arrested again in another assault case and a separate time, he was booked for under age drinking.

Former radio host Don Imus made his first public appearance since he was fired. He reportedly attended his wife Deirdre’s book signing in Connecticut. Deirdre’s book called “Green This” gives eco-friendly cleaning ideas. Imus says he’s happy the book will raise money for the couple’s ranch…which helps children with cancer. Imus was fired by CBS radio for saying a racist and sexist slur on-air.
